Do you want to become more involved in your community?
Victim Outreach Information (VOI) offers opportunities to work directly with crime victims, offering support and access to resources during a critical stage of trauma.
Volunteer Victim Advocates work closely with law enforcement and the court system to ensure victims' rights are upheld and needs are met. VOI was established in 1986 and serves residents in Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Edgewater, Golden, Mountain View, Lakeside and the Colorado School of Mines in Jefferson County.
The application process is selective and applicants must be at least 21 years of age, submit to a background check, and attend a 40-hour training. No experience necessary.
Training to become a victim advocate occurs in the spring and in the fall. Individuals who are interested in volunteer opportunities as an advocate, in helping with special events or in becoming a board member may contact Aneesha, Volunteer Coordinator @ 303-202-2196 or email: voi@victimoutreach.org.
