This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information collected through this website (“Site”). As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in Golden, Colorado, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our donors, subscribers, and visitors.

1.1 Information You Provide to us

Donor name (if provided), donation amount, date, and contact information used for receipting (data). VOI will not sell, rent, trade or transfer your personal information to third parties. Corporate and Foundation sponsors are listed in our Annual Report and event programs.

  • Newsletter Signup: Email address only.
  • Information submitted within the Zeffy embedded donation form is processed exclusively by Zeffy and VOI has no access to that information.
  • Unless you opt out, we may use the information you provide us to contact you for other purposes such as victim assistance news and updates or to solicit you for additional contributions.
1.2 Automatically Collected Technical Data

We may collect basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and server logs. We do not use analytics or tracking tools.

  • Processing and acknowledging donations via Zeffy
  • Maintaining nonprofit compliance records
  • Sending newsletters and organization updates

4. Data Security

We apply reasonable safeguards consistent with small nonprofit security standards. Payment information is handled exclusively by Zeffy.

We retain data only as long as required for operations, newsletters, and IRS compliance.

6. Children’s Privacy

This Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect such data.
